**my brain is verrrrrrrrry slow
I meant try to eat your breakfast no later than 9am not pm sorry for that., your lunch as well should be at about 13:30pm-1pm and the dinner I already mentionned that.
I have a question for you bb, did the doctor' try to have you on a control diet and checking your blood at home before they wanted to start you on insulin?
I hope all goes well for you, your almost due as you are having your precious one in May correct?
Yes your right in the other post soon things will be over.
Here is something that the dietician said: that you spread out your meals (make it four hours apart)and snack three times a day in between. Eat whole grain, 12grain or whole wheat bread and not too much. You should also eat at certain times and your last meal should be before 6pm. After your meal you snack for the last time either eating unsalted crackers(premium unsalted crakers), have six of them with a slice of cheese, drink water and you can have one cup of popcorn.
Try to stay away from dried apricots, and raisins and stuff like that.
Eat you fruits three times a day, so you can have it with your snacks and remember after your meals walk in the house for 10mins max.
This helped a lot bb. The key is exercise as it lowers your blood sugar and drink that WATER. Go to bed with a cup by your bedside if u can. But exercise, even cleaning the house and stuff up and down helps too.
The reason for the GD is that the placenta is fighting against the natural insulin that we have in our body and if your sugar is too high the baby's pancreas is going to overwork itself as well.
Try to wake up in the morning and eat your breakfast no later than 9pm. Time when you finish eating it. And then in btwn that say 2hrs later your snack(cheese,or milk but not both as milk is a food a fruit either half an apple(carries a lot of calories),1 1/2 cup of watermelon if you like that or a pear), and your water. And then four hours from your last meal which is your b.fast then you set up your lunch. As this point your dinner should be prepared as well to eat at around 5-5:30pm. Exercise hour after meals. And drink your water.
See if this helps. I will go back and search into the information that was given to my friend. God willing.
Blackbeauty I hope all is well with you. I just read that you are taking insulin and it is not working for you. I wanted to know if your are doing a diet with the insulin and cutting out a lot of the carbohydrates and measuring? The reason why I ask is because I know someone who was just told that they have GD but their numbers where not high, and in the city where they live the numbers are different from other cities and provinces. So really in her original province she is NOT GD but the idiotic doctor's even told her that but where she is now she is.
But they are controlling it with a diet and exercise. Even a five min walk lowers the sugar level and water and lemon as well which flushes out whatever you intake.
Just a few suggestion maybe it can work for you. I hope all is well with your baby. Try to walk in your house back and forth for five mins and see what happens. It works though. The key is exercise for the number to go down.
I had both.. I came down with pre-eclampsia the weekend before I went into labor. It was so bad, I couldn't see.. VERY Dangerous. I didn't know.. Take Care and keep us posted.. Don't be afraid to call the doctor at any time..
Vanessa
The only cure for pre-eclampsia is delivery.. My dd was 2 1/2 weeks early and 10 lbs 4 oz.
With my first I had gestational diabetes and PIH (preg induced hypertension, but not yet to preeclamp.)...both were diagnosed later in pregnancy and they induced at 37 weeks.
My sister had both. I think the two complications commonly go together. She was hospitalized a few times, and they ended up giving her steroids to mature the baby's organs and induced her at 35 weeks. She has a beautiful baby boy with no health problems.
I'm glad to see that baby is still hanging out in your belly. I worried about you when you went on bed rest so early.
