Ttc after d&c

I had a misscarrige 7 weeks ago. I was 8 weeks and it was a mmc, baby died at 7 weeks so I had d& c. Very upsetting. I charted my temperatures and I think I ovulated about 4 weeks after. I had a temp spike for 10 days and it then dropped. I had a very very light period. I would say more spotting for three days. Obgyn said wait three months but normal Gp said studies support trying straight away. I am confused? Does the light period indicate thin lining which means I risk another mc if I ttc too soon? Cycle was pretty regular before mc - I tended to ov day 20 (late) with about 10 day leutal phase.
