Pregnant Woman Over 40 stories

Hi ladies, Besides my recent "success" at 44 and 5 months, I thought I'd share a website that I found on another ttc website. It's stories of thousands of women well over 40 who have had health babies, some with the help of RE but a lot on their own! Some even had really high FSH levels. It's nice to see a website with just success stories. Check it out!! http://pregnancyover44y.blogspot.com/

Thanks ladies. I guess I'm just trying to forget this whole thing, except that I'm being VERY careful what I type anymore. Trying to keep it very simple when it comes to "baby wishes" :) Kendal is my friend (I mean we've met each other outside of babymed) and I know she would never purposely mean to hurt me or anyone else. Her and her husband are the best. I guess I was just shocked at her post and took it very personal and it threw me for a loop. I know, especially since the failed IVF, she's really hurting and I'm sure my wording in the post didn't help. I posted that a while ago and I just happened to come in here to check on my fellow "over 40" sisters and saw it. Anyhow, thanks all for your support when I needed it. I'm okay and I am praying that my friend Kendal feels better really soon. xo Now I think we can lay this thread to rest :) Love, Irene

Irene, I'm sure your post was sincere and you only meant well.

Infertility is really horrible, and it can be easy to let it get to you. I remember when I first heard on the news that Geena Davis was expecting twins at age 48, and here I was 7 years younger and couldn't even conceive ONE baby. I got frustrated and angry.

I am hoping for a miracle for every woman here, and congratulations to Irene...I don't think I have yet, as I was away for awhile. You give us all hope! :)

Sweet Irene I want you to know what an amazing loving and supportive person you are now and always. There was absolutely nothing wrong with what you said. I know so well what an amazing support you are as you were up online with me in the night through my miscarriage with me on IM and all this when you were newly pregnant. Kendall, I agree with Melissa your post really has some bitterness to it, When I miscarried I was filled with love and support for all, pregnant or not. I am sorry that you are hurting now but it's not really fair of you to attack others when you are hurt. I send you love and support.

Irene, I'm sorry to hear that you were upset over the "misunderstanding" on this thread! Like you haven't had enough on your mind!! Went to your thread before to find out how the Dr's appt went, and was SO happy to hear the good news! I was SHOCKED how much bigger the baby got!!! Eric/Piper is truly beautiful! What a great pic too! Don't worry about anything -- this misunderstanding or anything else... it's not good for you or the baby! Besides, we all know the way you are -- positive, encouraging and supportive! :)

All my best, Melissa

Melissa, Thank you for that. I was kind of upset that evening, and on and off all day yesterday after reading that. I guess I thought most of the girls on here knew me enough to know that I would never do or say anything to hurt anyone. I know it's a very sensitive issue and I try to support everyone, without saying the "wrong thing." I might not pick the best "words" all the time, but I truly meant well. I swear I wish every single woman on this site would get pregnant....and soon! I apologize if anyone else was offended by my post.

Irene, I agree with your last post whole-heartedly. You didn't say anything wrong... We all know that at different stages we all "move" from room to room - i.e. the Pre-O to the 2 Week Wait, etc. You were simply sending good wishes for someone to get pregnant. Nothing wrong with that! In fact, I love your positive encouragement and support! :)

Kendal, I am sorry that you suddenly have had a change of heart when it comes to BabyMed. I've always thought of BabyMed as a TTC site, where the women were loving and supportive whether you were TTCing, doing ART, facing menopause, chronic infertility,-- even breast cancer, etc. The main point being that we support each other no matter what, bad or good times, because we all want the same thing, right? A baby! The fact that people are still posting on your thread asking how things were going, and that they were thinking about you should be evidence of the BabyMed members ongoing support. I know you were offended by the tickers, and the tickers ARE ridiculous (they don't even work 99% of the time, and then you have to look to see if the person is TTCing or Pregnant), and I honestly think they should be removed from BabyMed if for no other reason than they're just plain stupid!

From your recent posts it almost sounds like you're bitter that others are actually getting pregnant, and I am sorry if your journey TTCing has been that long and that difficult, that you might feel that way. Regardless, we are all still rooting for you (I've been checking your thread everyday, even though you made it clear that you're feeling more comfortable on a different site. I even spent hours looking for you there), and would like to be there for you throughout your journey and your eventual BFP. I hope you'll recognize all the love and support that's here for you from the members of BabyMed. Good luck...

Blessings for a beautiful baby, Melissa

Kendal, That's not what I meant when I said our side. I would never do an "us against them" thing here or anywhere. I just meant that I hoped Rita can come over to the Pregnant threads because she's pregnant and not just to visit. That's all. When I wasn't pregnant yet, I still loved to hear stories of other women getting pregnant, old and young, because it gave me hope to keep trying. Whether it took me one year or two years or three years. I might even lose this baby and never get pregnant again, but I'm still going to come on here and root for everyone, whether they're pregnant or not.

all this talk about sides is making my stomach turn. like is an us vs. them thing, like we get to "come over" when we win the bean-in-the-belly award from doing our tricks just right. Sorry... chronic infertility is a disease, and even if people get pregnant, they could just as easily lose it. I prefer to think of this as more of a large room with everyone in it, and we all are different aspects of the same entity...

this is main reason I've been estranging myself from the board. There is not a lot of room here for real infertility. It's really a charting site for women getting pregnant. Sorry to piss anyone off. :-(

Rita, I totally understand. I meant I was wishing you some pregnancy vibes so you can come over to our side for good! I know it's hard to come over there when you're not pregnant yet. You are entitled to feel sad. I had many of those days myself. Definitely read those positive stories when you're down. They did help me. Have a great weekend! :) Irene

Thanks Irene!~ I have checked on your pregnancy boards, but sometimes it is more sad, somehow..... (to KNOW how you girls are "feeling" & the things you are going through & remembering & desireing to be there, again....)or to imagine not ever having been there before... Sorry, I am feeling sorry for myself this morning.....I need to go read 0ver 40 website, again!

Amen to that Rita. I totally agree - there is sooo much they don't know about older women and pregnancy. I did hear of a study recently into women who were over 45 who were able to have babies naturally and they found that they share some kind of genetic thing that they think protects their ovaries but I believe there must be more to it than that.

Irene, I found that site awhile ago & it gave me hope, also! I think we don't often hear "the truth" concerning older age conceptions & births. I just participated in a panel research on "high risk pregnancies" & I voiced that not enough research has been done on older aged women & "NATURAL" pregnancies, without all the drugs, or even IUI & IVF being the only way. I just feel there is so much we, (& the doctors) don't know!! ~~Here's to many of us finding the way!! to healthy & successful pregnancies at our age!! Rita
