Q: After the pill my menstrual periods are light. What does this mean?

A: It's normal for your periods on the pill to be different than your periods off the pill, because each occurs for different reasons.
While you take the pill your periods come because you have stopped the hormones in the pill, and while off the pill your period comes after ovulation and because you are not pregnant.
As long as you are ovulating regularly, hypomenorrhea in and of itself is unlikely to be a problem getting pregnant.
However there are certain medical conditions, such as 'Asherman-Syndrome,' that can lead to light and short menstrual periods.
If you are having problems conceiving, you may want to see an infertility specialist (RE=Reproductive Endocrinologist) to discuss your hypomenorrhea.
