signs of implantation

Implantation, the attachement of the fertilized egg to the uterine lining, happens between 6 and 12 days after ovulation and fertilization, and on average about 9 days after ovulation. Your period usually starts about 14 days after ovulation, so if you know when you ovulated and you experience some spotting, less than your period, about a week after ovulation, then it could be implantation bleeding.

Implantation Bleeding

Implantation bleeding is usually spotting, it's scanty, pinkish and not red and heavy like a period. Implantation bleeding does not follow the normal pattern of a period (light to heavy to light) and about 12-14 dpo. And it rarely if ever lasts longer than a day or two. The signs of implantation can often be confusing, and the best and only sign that it was the first sign of pregnancy is a positive pregnancy test about 7-10 days after implantation.
