What do I do?

I had an ultrasound last week and a heartbeat was not found. The Dr said I was 6 weeks based on my last period, but said it could be off since I don't have a constant 28 day cycle. My HCG level was in the 7200's on Friday. Should I be concerned about a miscarriage or is it just too early to see a heartbeat? I'm trying not to stress out, but it's easier said than done. I have had some cramping, but no bleeding or spotting. And I'm seeing a new Dr. I had never seen him or his staff before and I feel like everything was very rushed. Should I seek a new Dr? And how do I put my mind at ease? He has me scheduled for another ultrasound in 3 weeks. Is that too long to wait?

You are correct. The fetal heartbeat can usually be seen on sonogram by 6 weeks. However, ovulation and implantation can sometimes happen later, and then it would be leater to see the fetus' heartbeat.
