With a little luck, by week 10, morning sickness should be in decline. But, as one pregnancy symptom disappears, another appears. During the last 10 weeks, blood volume has been increasing and you are now carrying 40 to 50% more blood. All this new blood is being pumped through existing veins which can cause veins near the surface to become visible, especially in the breasts and legs. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about them. The increase in blood flow is necessary for healthy fetal growth, so think of the veins as a lifeline for your baby.

Tips for this week

Weight gain continues. To keep in shape mentally and physically, find easy and regular ways to incorporate exercise into your daily activities. Walking is an optimal choice because you can do it both during early and late pregnancy. Walking also clears your mind and you can make it a daily ritual to walk with your partner and talk all about what is happening in the pregnancy and plan for the future.
