Morning sickness is also known as "Nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (NVP)". It is a common condition usually early in pregnancy that happens in up to 70-80% of all pregnancies and potentially affects the health of the mother and fetus if it is severe. Hyperemesis gravidarum, on the other hand, is a more severe form of morning sickness/nausea and vomiting of pregnancy and often requires hospital admission and intravenous IV hydration treatment .
