Q: Is Dramamine safe during pregnancy?

A: Dramamine or dymenhydinate is a Class B medication in pregnancy. It's usually taken to combat nausea and motion sickness.

Dramamine is generally considered safe during pregnancy because as a Class B medication no risks have been found in animal studies. Although one cannot unconditionally guarantee any medication's safety in pregnancy, most studies have shown no increased risk of fetal anomalies in those exposed to dimenhydrinate.
