What is vitamin E?
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant found in any foods. The vitamin is also found in multivitamins and standalone vitamin E supplements. Patients who are deficient in vitamin E may suffer from edema or hemolytic anemia. Deficiency is rare.
Normal value range
- Negative Pregnancy Adult: 5 to 18 µg/mL or 12 to 42 µmol/L
- Pregnancy Trimester One: 4 to 16 µg/mL or 10 to 38 µmol/L
- Pregnancy Trimester Two: 8 to 19 µg/mL or 19 to 43 µmol/L
- Pregnancy Trimester Three: 7 to 28 µg/mL or 17 to 65 µmol/L
