There are no medical studies on the accuracy of pregnancy dreams in predicting real-life pregnancies.
Pregnancy Dreams Have Nothing To Do With Pregnancy
Dream experts believe that pregnancy dreams are more about being creative than being pregnant. According to one expert, dreaming one or more times about being pregnant or about pregnancy in general means you are looking for a creative outlet. Maybe you are dreaming up a project that is packed with creativity or you want to start a new creative hobby, but it does not mean you are pregnant or that you are going to get pregnant.
Dreams About Fish
The immortal fish dream is an old wive's tale that has been passed down from generation to generation. Interestingly, despite the lack of clinical proof, this dream is thought to predict pregnancy. My mother-in-law actually dreamt of fish before each of my first two pregnancies. There are strong family beliefs about the power of the fish dream, but there is no reason to believe this symbol is any more reliable than dreams about other animals.
Dreams About Snakes
I’ve also found information about certain cultures that believe dreams about snakes predict pregnancy. The myth states that if a woman dreams of being bitten by a snake she is pregnant. Again, there are no means of clinical proof to support these claims.
Prophetic Dreams and Pregnancy Prediction
While many pregnant women would love to know their dreams mean something in terms of predicting pregnancy, the truth is in the hCG test. There are no proven methods of prophetic dream analysis that definitively predict current or future pregnancy status.
