Jessica Simpson and fiancée Eric Johnson have finally welcomed their baby girl into the world. While Simpson reported having a normal pregnancy, we have all been wondering about the birth of the child, who the tabloids were sure was way overdue. Even celebrities like Katy Perry and Chelsea Handler took to Twitter to share their shock that a very-pregnant Simpson had yet to deliver.
The wait is finally over for the baby who’s due date was April 21st. Simpson posted a banner on her website confirming that her daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson, was born weighing in at 9 lbs. 13 oz! “We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!” the couple wrote on the birth announcement.
Maxwell’s name is a combination of family names from both Simpson and Johnson’s families. Maxwell is Eric’s middle name, while Drew is Jessica’s mother’s maiden name.
The baby was born at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California. Jessica’s mother, sister Ashlee, and fiancée’s parents were seen arriving at the hospital today.
