Maggie Gyllenhaal, sister of Jake Gyllenhaal and acclaimed actress in her own right, has given birth to her second child.

Maggie and actor husband Peter Sarsgaard welcomed daughter Gloria Ray on April 19th, 2012 in New York City, according to Gyllenhaal’s publicist. Gloria joins the couple’s first child, older sister Ramona, age 5. The pair, who are known for being quiet when it comes to the press, have provided no other details at this time.

Maggie and Peter have been together since 2002 and married in Italy in 2009. In March, Maggie spoke about the pregnancy to USA Today stating, “I found it difficult to pretend you’re not pregnant, which I had to do. I didn’t let anyone know until three and a half months this time.”

Peter spoke to reporters in February about his concerns introducing a second child to big sister Ramona. “I’ve seen kids with siblings – I don’t have any siblings, so I don’t know – but they generally go for about five minutes, ‘Oh, cool! Anyway, what are we doing to do now? Can we return it?’” he said. “I think it gets boring quickly, at first, and it takes a while for them to bond,” he continued.

We are thrilled for the happy family and can’t wait for the baby pictures! Congratulations Maggie, Peter, and Ramona!
