Niki Taylor, 36, who once walked the catwalk with the likes of Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, and Cindy Crawford, has just given birth to her fourth child! Her baby boy was born on November 16th at 11:03 am, weighing in at 7 lbs. 5 oz, and measuring 19 inches. His name is Rex Harrison.
The former supermodel and later contestant on Celebrity Apprentice took to Twitter in May 2011, showing a picture of her first ultrasound with the caption, ‘Guess what’s in this photo.’ Nikki then confirmed her followers’ suspicions, quickly adding: ‘YES!! We are expecting our fourth child! So happy and blessed!’ Since then Taylor has made a number of appearances, including one at the Colonnade Outlets in Sunrise, Florida, showing off her growing bump.
This is the second child for Taylor and her second husband, racecar driver Burney Lamar. The couple married in 2006 and has a daughter, Ciel, who is two years old. Taylor also has 16-year-old identical twin sons, Hunter and Jake, from her first marriage to former linebacker for the Miami Hooters, Matt Martinez.
Despite international fame and fortune and a career, which began at the tender age of 13, Niki Taylor has overcome many obstacles in her life. Her sister Krissy, also a model, died in 1992 at the age of 17, due to an acute asthma attack and cardiac arrhythmia. Niki found her sister unconscious in their family’s Florida home, shortly before Krissy died in a hospital.
In 2001, Niki made headlines again after disappearing from the limelight for sometime, when she was involved in a near-fatal car accident. She was badly injured and lay in a coma for six weeks. After 56 operations, years of physical therapy and immeasurable emotional and physical trauma, Niki returned to the scene hosting various shows, including Bravo’s, Make Me a Supermodel. Taylor also appeared on Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump.
After so many hardships, it’s no wonder that Taylor feels so blessed with the birth of her fourth child. These days Niki can be found blogging for PEOPLE about all the cravings and challenges of pregnancy. Congratulations Niki and Burney!
