Q: Which is a more accurate indication of ovulation, basal body temperature (BBT) or egg-white cervical mucus (EWCM)?

A: Egg-white cervical mucus (EWCM) is usually a sign of an increase in the estrogen hormone. This usually happens around the time of ovulation, but you don't necessarily have to ovulate just because there is EWCM. You can get EWCM and not ovulate. Having a biphasic bbt curve is a much better indicator of ovulation than EWCM.  If you have a typical biphasic bbt curve that's the best indicator of ovulation.
