If the parents have agreed to have baby immunized, the vaccination process will be started in the hospital, usually against Hepatitis B. All other vaccines are given later on. Hepatitis B immunization requires three doses, so the entire series must be completed for the vaccine to be effective. Other vaccines given later on include:
- Rotavirus
- Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (DTaP)
- Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)
- Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV)
- Polio vaccine (IPV)
- Influenza (Flu)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Chicken Pox (Varicella)
- Hepatitis A (HAV)
- Meningococcal vaccine (MCV4)
Vaccination schedules are available from your pediatrician. Some vaccines contain common food allergens. If your child suffers from food allergies the vaccination schedule may change.
