babyMed was conceived with a clear mission: To improve reproductive health for women and men. Reproductive health is defined as conditions, diseases, and disorders that affect the functioning of the male and female reproductive systems during all stages of life. This includes improving his and her fertility, addressing hormonal disorders, preventing birth defects, improving pregnancy outcomes, preventing low birth weight and preterm birth, addressing postpartum issues.
We do this by offering hundreds of interactive and medically accurate tools and articles covering all aspects of fertility and pregnancy, and courses and assessments—all designed to educate and empower women and men.
Our tools are the most accurate available online and were created by Dr. Amos Grunebaum, a New York obstetrician and gynecologist and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has written or reviewed the babyMed content to ensure that all information and data is scientifically correct.
babyMed is a one-stop fertility and pregnancy resource center with articles and advanced technology designed to help women and couples get pregnant faster. We optimize both women’s and men’s fertility potential with personalized interactive tools, calculators, and calendars which educate and empower. We pride ourselves on medical accuracy and were recognized in an independent study as the only website having a fertility and ovulation calculator that accurately predicts a woman’s fertile window. We are also unique in that we comprehensively cover the female reproductive cycle—from menstruation to fertility, pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. Our content and tools are not limited to women, as we also cover male fertility and the partner’s role in trying-to-conceive as well as all the way through the pregnancy and postpartum period. We also have one of the most extensive online interactive collections of fertility and pregnancy Q&As and FAQs.
babyMed was conceived and nurtured by Dr. Amos Grunebaum, an Ob-Gyn with decades of experience in helping couples get pregnant and have healthy babies. Dr. Amos, as he is known by his patients, is among the world's leading authorities on fertility and pregnancy. Over his 40+ years as an Ob-Gyn in New York City, Dr. Amos has delivered more than 5,000 babies and has supervised more than 20,000 deliveries.
Dr. Amos realized early on that his patients—taught in their school years more about how not to get pregnant—were lacking the knowledge they needed to improve their chances of getting pregnant. So in 1996, Dr. Amos created a website to educate women and men about pregnancy and TTC (trying to conceive). His early ventures were acquired by WebMD and a German health and media company. babyMed was born in 2000, making it the first independent website that covers both pregnancy and fertility thoroughly.
Only babyMed gets it right
Couples that are trying to get pregnant often look for support in online forums and groups, or they simply go to the article that Google recommends. However, much of the pregnancy and fertility content to be found online is unscientific and may actually lead readers in the wrong direction.
Researchers at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital conducted tests on over 50 websites and apps designed to help predict a woman's fertile window. According to the study’s author, Dr. Setton, the only website that accurately predicted a woman’s fertile window was babymed.com.
The findings, published in Obstetrics and Gynecology, suggest that women should be cautious about relying on unfamiliar websites and apps to predict the best days to try to conceive. We address this with rigorous testing to ensure that our tools are medically accurate, and by customizing them to each user based on their unique data. Other sites, apps, and software tools that are not accurate are not likely to be effective either in getting pregnant or preventing pregnancy.
Of all the websites tested, only babyMed gets it right.
