OD/DD Day:
-154

If you haven't had an ultrasound yet, it is commonly scheduled between now and the 20th week. At this stage, gender can be determined as well, along with measurements of the arms, legs, head, and abdomen. These measurements are used to determine the fetal age and the estimate of a more realistic date of delivery. Finding out your baby's sex is very exciting but remember that ultrasound technology is not a perfect science. Only an amniocentesis can 100% determine the baby at this point as the results are based on chromosomes.

Tips for this week

You may experience dizziness and lightheadedness during the 18th week. This is caused by an increase in blood volume which can cause a lag in the cardiovascular system. Some pregnant women find it useful to use a cane to deal with dizziness and lightheadedness. And remember, this, too shall pass!
