Food is fuel

If you’re trying to conceive, you’ll be happy to hear that food is medicine. There are plenty of foods that provide important hormone-balancing nutrients (like hormone balancing article), and including them in your breakfast first thing in the morning is key. The ProFertility diet provides you some guidance about what and what not to eat. For example, try sneaking in cruciferous veggies (which help balance estrogen) to your smoothie by steaming and then freezing cauliflower florets and blending them up with a banana, some protein powder, ice, and nut butter! You can also scramble up some organic, free-range eggs and pair them with sautéed leafy greens (a great iron source) and cook both in ghee or butter (healthy fats are key to hormonal balance and function)!

Hit the road!

Incorporating a morning walk into your routine can provide a host of great benefits. Most notably, you’ll get your vitamin D fix, which some studies have shown to link to higher success rates in IVF. If you’re taking this route, definitely try to get outside more. Aside from this vitamin, a morning walk is nothing short of relaxing and grounding.

Make it mellow

A Harvard University Medical School found that group therapy more than doubled the conception rate for women who had trouble getting pregnant. Even a few minutes of meditation before starting the day can relax your body and mind. Maybe wake up half an hour early, so you’re not scrambling for time and can thoughtfully engage in your practice. Reduced stress means you’re not taxing your hormones. Happy hormones = better fertility!

Swap your sips

Seeing the word “morning” without seeing “coffee” after seems unnatural. We hate to break it to you, but if you’re trying to conceive, you may want to consider keeping caffeine consumption to a minimum. The recommended level of coffee is no more than 2-3 cups of coffee a day.

Supplement smartly

It’s 2019, so you’ve likely heard the term “adaptogen” floating around in some way. Adaptogens are natural substances that aid the body in dealing with stress, so it can function at its best. There are plenty of hormone-balancing supplements that aid fertility, including Fertilaid for women, which is known for its fertility promoting properties, and includes vitex berry, which nourishes the pituitary while also lowering progesterone. This is all-important for increasing fertility. And while you are at it, don't forget that his sperms have to stay healthy too, and get him a Fertilaid for men supplement.
