Although the second trimester does typically bring relief in many ways in terms of less nausea and vomiting, unfortunately, constipation is common starting this week. The same pregnancy hormones that relax abdominal muscles for uterine growth, also relax the muscles of the bowel. It is important to drink lots of water and eat foods high in fiber right now.
Tips for this week
Now is the time when many expectant couples shop for items that the baby will need. It's worth remembering that many things you think are necessary, simply aren't. It is also easy to confuse needs with wants. The actual needs for a new baby are far less stressful on a budget than wants, despite what the baby product companies try to tell you. Eat well, drinks lots of water and exercise a little bit daily.
